The Wayne Public Safety Associationwas incorporated in the State of Pennsylvania in 1891 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and attractive development of the South Wayne neighborhood. WPSA serves the many households south of Lancaster Pike, covering Radnor Township from Conestoga Road in the West to Radnor-Chester Road in the East. It does so by presenting a unified voice representing the aspirations and needs of the neighborhood through a wide range of activities and projects, which include monitoring the activities of the Board of Commissioners and Township Committees as they relate to South Wayne, liaising with other neighborhood organizations, providing financial support for neighborhood beautification efforts, supporting development of parks and bike/hiking trails in Radnor Township, etc.
Meetingsof the WPSA are held monthly from September through June, and are open to all South Wayne residents. The date, time and location of the meetings can be found here, at our website www.waynepsa.wordpress.com* or you can email tumola@aol.com or sfetris@erols.com.
Among other things, the WPSA coordinates an annual neighborhood Progressive Dinner in early June; information about the event will be posted here on the website and also within the April newsletter.
Finally, South Wayne has a long running WINOS group (Women In Need of Socialization), which gets together on the last Wednesday of every month except November. In December the event is held either the first or second week of December. This lively get together, which neighbors take turns hosting, is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors in a casual and relaxed setting. Please send an e-mail to Liz Weber at barwebis@comcast.net if you’d like to be added to the email notification list. Please include your name and address.
* The Next meeting of Wayne Public Safety Association will be held on Wed. October 28, 2009, 7:30pm at the Fire House. Beginning in November meetings will be the 3rd Monday of each month, 7:30 at Gryphon Coffee Co 105 W. Lancaster Ave.
